KENYA WILLIAMS

"Dialogue works best when curiosity matters more than agreement. It creates space for understanding without requiring everyone to think the same."

- Kenya Williams

My Story

Kenya Williams is a political science major at California Lutheran University with a strong academic focus on political polarization in the United States. As a biracial woman, she brings a nuanced perspective informed by an understanding of the nation’s history of oppression and its lasting impact on contemporary political and social structures. Her work is driven by a commitment to fostering informed, inclusive dialogue and addressing the forces that deepen partisan division. She cofounded AVZ as part of her dedication to increasing youth political engagement and empowering the next generation to bridge the divide between Democrats and Republicans. Through her academic pursuits and organizational leadership, Kenya seeks to cultivate a more equitable, engaged, and unified civic culture. She plans to attend law school following her undergraduate studies to further advance her work in public service and policy reform.
